Having initially established a strong foundation in all manner of general commercial litigation matters, I bring a wide breadth of knowledge and experience to bear on my current practice as a construction and engineering dispute resolution practitioner.
On a day to day basis I advise all manner of clients across various sectors in respect of construction and engineering disputes. I am commercially astute, and as a result am often engaged by clients at an early stage in a bid to circumvent escalation of issues between parties. If a dispute cannot be avoided, I will ensure my client is well placed to deal with any resulting proceedings which may arise.
A large part of my practice involves successfully advising clients how to manage the payment notice requirements in order to seek payment – or to avoid paying – monies due under construction contracts. I regularly represent parties in adjudication, mediation, and litigation. In 2019 I successfully advised RTS Construction Limited in avoiding payment of an erroneous adjudicator’s decision on a smash and grab adjudication (RTS Construction Limited v Signature Building Services Limited (2019)).
