East Midlands Club Christmas Get Together -The City of Caves Tour, Nottingham
The City of Caves Tour lasts 45-minute. Those that wish to join us after the cave tour, for a tour of Nottingham’s local establishments recommended by NCC City Archaeologist to further explore Nottingham’s caves, may do so.
We plan to have a tour of the Nottingham Caves, then visit some of the pubs/eateries that are carved into the rock.
Immerse yourself in the winding passageways of an underground world. Discover the lives of the people who found themselves living and working in this extraordinary environment.
Soak up the extraordinary atmosphere of the ancient caves carved deep beneath Nottingham’s city centre, including WW2 air raid shelters and a medieval tannery.
Please note, there are no toilets on site. You are welcome to use the facilities at our partner attraction, the National Justice Museum, around 5 minutes’ walk away.
The City of Caves entrance can be found at the bottom of Garners hill, beneath the Contemporary Art Gallery
