15th October 2024 at Villa Park, Birmingham
Keynote Speaker: Richard Parker, the new Mayor for the West Midlands.

He later started a firm working with small and medium-sized companies and social enterprises, including projects around the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. He describes his move into politics as the “most important thing I’ve done in my life.”
Key Policies:
- Public Control of Buses: He wants to bring buses under public control and set up a franchise system across the region.
- Revitalize Towns: He plans to revamp high streets, create 150,000 jobs, reduce crime, and tackle rogue landlords.
- Enhance Competitiveness: He aims to invest in skill development and apprenticeships to improve job prospects.
- Regional Development: He has attracted about £1bn to the West Midlands and aims to bring more investment to all areas if elected.
- Support Markets: He proposes a markets taskforce for the Black Country to boost local markets and attract visitors.
- Improve Transport: He plans to develop a very light railway to reduce congestion and improve transport in the West Midlands.
