West Midlands Combined Authority Future Homes Cluster Launch
The newly commissioned West Midlands Future Homes Cluster brings together manufacturers, developers, funders, educators, public and industry partners to grow and amplify the region’s inherent strengths in manufacturing and innovation in construction and housing delivery.
Drawing on the region’s industrial heritage, the West Midlands benefits from a number of companies that specialise in housing and construction innovation. Cast, BBI Services and CE Midlands have been appointed in partnership by the WMCA to establish a collaborative Cluster around these companies, mirroring the successful approach applied in other West Midlands sectors including aerospace and automotive.
The Cluster aims to create skilled workers, and support economic growth by enabling firms to scale, collaborate, and compete more effectively with other forms of construction.
Through shared research, skills programmes, innovation mapping, securing joint R&D funding, and practical collaboration, the Cluster will tackle barriers that individual organisations cannot solve alone.
By providing visibility, influence, and opportunities to connect, the Cluster gives members a stronger voice, helps attract investment, and builds confidence in the industrialisation of construction across the region and beyond.
