Coventry Air Quality Project Site Visit/Walk with ForCE
Coventry City Council has worked closely with the Government’s Joint Air Quality Unit (JAQU) to develop a plan to achieve the legal limits for NO2 within Coventry in the shortest possible time.
The purpose of the Air Quality Projects (AQP) is to improve the Air Quality at the key locations in Coventry where Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) levels are very high.
The A4114 Holyhead Road to the north-west of Coventry City Centre currently has high levels of air pollution due to heavy traffic entering and leaving the city to the west.
This is being addressed by the proposed Spon End highway/junction improvement work including cycle and pedestrian facilities, which will reduce the congestion / traffic queuing and thereby reduce air pollution and improve pedestrian facilities around junction 7.
There will be PPE required – Steel toe-cap boots, hi-vis jacket/vest.
If you have your own hard hat, gloves, and goggles, please also bring these, they can be provided if you don’t have them.
There will be a short presentation from Balfour Beatty with networking, followed by a site tour/walk along the project, where you will be able to ask any questions, allow 45 minutes to 1 hour for the walk.
