SUSTAIN 2025 Midlands’ Sustainability UnConference
Join the Midlands’ Sustainability Movement
We believe the future of survival under climate change is collaborative.
Our inspiration? Everyone else in the room.
Sustain 2025 is a one-day Sustainability UnConference built around action, not applause.
No panels or gurus. No audience rows. Just 200+ people solving real problems, together.
You’ll take part in live mastermind sessions, where educators, business leaders, local authorities, community organisers, and policy-makers sit at the same table.
YOU decide the agenda. You pick the topics that matter. And you move the conversation forward.
What is an UnConference?
This isn’t a typical conference.
You won’t be sitting through slide decks and corporate spin.
Instead, we start the day together: identifying the most urgent, most meaningful Sustainability challenges across the Midlands.
Then we break out into 10+ live masterminds, each hosted by a trained facilitator.
You can move between rooms. You can pitch a topic. You can sit and listen or step up and lead.
Every voice counts. That’s the point.
Why it matters now
- We’re past the tipping point and still too many decisions are being made behind closed doors
- The Midlands is key to the UK’s Sustainability transition: in skills, manufacturing, energy, food, and community resilience
- True collaboration is rare; Sustain 2025 creates a shared space for deep dialogue and action across sectors
This isn’t about recycling bins and awareness posters. It’s about systems change grounded in local reality.
Themes that matter
Every year, topics are shaped by those in the room. But you can expect conversations on:
- Green skills and the future of work
- Food security and land use
- Community energy, housing and transport
- Mental health, wellbeing and eco-anxiety
- Climate finance, policy, and just transition
- Circular economy, nature recovery, and more
Who it’s for
If you care about shaping a sustainable future…and you’re ready to act…this is for you.
- Sustainability professionals and Business leaders seeking purpose and impact
- Local authority teams working on climate, community, or regeneration
- Educators, young people and the change-makers of tomorrow
- Charities, CICs, and social entrepreneurs
- Engineers, architects, food growers, creatives, data analysts, funders…
- No matter your background — if you’ve got skin in the game, you belong in the room.
Why we charge for tickets
Your ticket investment supports a full day of collaborative learning and peer-to-peer knowledge sharing in our UnConference format. You’ll join sustainability professionals, public sector leaders, students, businesses, and community organisations for meaningful discussions, cross-sector networking, and collective problem-solving that drives real change across the Midlands.
As part of your day, we’ve included full catering provided by ChangeKitchen CIC, a sustainable and socially conscious caterer who’ll fuel your conversations with breakfast, lunch, afternoon snacks, and hot & cold drinks — all thoughtfully prepared to support our collaborative approach.
Pay forward a second ticket for someone with a small budget? You can help us become a more inclusive event by booking an extra ticket which we will pass on to a person who could otherwise not attend. Just use “donate” “ticket” instead of a name at checkout. Thank you!
