Lincolnshire Club ASI Site Visit
Newark is a historic town dating back to the Saxon period.  As part of the Newark town regeneration, there are several projects set to happen within the town.  One of these projects is Air & Space Institute (ASI) which is a new build project for Lincoln College – in more recent times, the location of the ASI building was the towns’ cattle market.  Newark is on the River Trent and is a high flood-risk area, accordingly, the ground level for the building was raised.
The architect designed the shape and windows of the building similar to aircrafts sitting side by side, as you would expect to see in an airport terminal. Â This is a one-of-a-kind building/institute and where students of the various ASI courses will learn their trade from engineering to piloting and will attract students from all over the world.
